My brother Moe treated the whole family to a wonderful 2-day stay at The Kalahari Resort! It was our first time there and it was lots of fun! The weather these days is getting cold and is really chilly, so an indoor amusement park was just what we needed!
Just me and my gal!
We are going to go see my sister Sara, who lives out in Chicago. Also, my friend’s sister from Saudi Arabia will be there too, so we will be seeing her as well 🙂
But back to our road trip!
I’m actually more excited than I should be about this! Maybe because I see it as an adventure with it being just BirBir and I. Or maybe it’s my love for driving and my love of road trips. Either way, I’m excited!
So how will I attempt this and survive? I packed accordingly!
Here’s what I thought were important items in order to make BirBir comfortable on this trip thus making ME comfortable as well:
- plenty of books for her entertainment
- coloring books
- blank paper
- her BLANKI!
- her stuffed animal (cat)
- more snacks
- her water bottle
coffee (yeah that’s actually for me!)
Of course, I packed her bag with wipes, change of clothes, socks, etc.
Alright, so this adventure starts tomorrow! Stay tuned to see how it all unravels!
Unfortunately for us, we couldn’t go up since they were all were closed for renovation for the next 5 months! 😦
So we opted for pics in front of it instead.
I’ve been planning to surprise my sister by just showing up to her house in KUWAIT! Yes, my freinds, in KUWAIT! She had nooo idea I was coming and was not expecting it AT ALL!
Her husband knew, but I made him promise not to tell her, which he didn’t (thank you G!). He became part of the plan because he was the one who was going to pick us up from the airport.
So we arrived at around 7 pm. After getting picked up by G, we went straight to their house. He called my sister while we were on the way and he told her that the cable man was coming. When we got there she was in the bedroom with her little girl. So by the time we sat down and got our cameras working, G called her and she came into the living room to the suprise! She practically froze in her spot for about 30 seconds! She was crying-laughing at the same time! Oh, wow! It was priceless!
After our hugs and kisses, she sat down and was in shock for a long time lol
Yes, my friends, I just LOVE doing suprises to people. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside 🙂
We flew on Wednsday morning to Mecca and got back Friday night.
While there, we stayed at a nice hotel that had an amazing view of the Ka’ba! It was truly breathtaking!
On Thursday, my brother and his family came to visit us. BirBir had a ball! She always loves her cousin’s company 🙂
On Friday, we went to visit them at their house in Jeddah. The drive was about 45 minutes or so. Not a bad drive. After we ate (from the imfamous AlBaik resturant), my brother drove us to the airport.
And just as it started… it was over. But we really had a great time!
However, today was a bit different. After getting breakfast we headed out. I’ve been to DC several times, but its my husband’s first time here, so he wanted to make sure to see all the important things, you know, like the White House and stuff lol
And of course, it’s BirBir’s first time here too 🙂
We went to see the White House & the Washington Monument, took the Big Red Bus tours, drove passed the Capitol Building, ate at a really nice steak house right next to the White House (forgot it’s name), and walked, walked, walked, and walked some more! Good thing the weather was amazing (and good thing I had on some flats!)
Tomorrow we head to New York City!!!
