Today I took BirBir to Preston HOPE Park. My sisters, her husband, and their two little girls joined us. It was our first time at this park but we fell in love with it from the very first sight!
So I woke this morning with an idea. I wanted to make a scavenger hunt for BirBir using leaves and small flowers from the backyard.
So I collected several items, glued them on paper, covered the paper with clear contact paper, and we went on our hunt!
She was so into it! I gave her a small ziplock bag to collect the things she finds on her hunt. She was so proud of herself at the end and actually wanted to do it all over again! 😊
Our local library had a cute theme for story time today: Pajama Story Time!
Kids got to wear their pajamas to the library (and BirBir brought her blankie!).
The kids enjoyed listening to a few books about bedtime, they listened to songs, danced, and completed a cute “teddy bear tucked in bed” craft!
Can’t wait for next week’s story time!
Today we did some simple activities, yet still fun and enjoyable 😊
1) I brought out the dyed rice for BirBir to scoop and play with. Afterwards, she scooped some rice in 3 small bowls and “fed” her small, stuffed animals.
2) Next, I brought out some small, colored, wooden blocks and I would start a pattern and she would complete it by repeating the pattern. She loves doing patterns. She mastered the AB pattern and now she mastered the ABC pattern! Yay!
3) I brought out the box of markers and a blank, white poster ($0.50 at the dollar tree!) and she was free-drawing. I was really impressed with how long she spent on this activity! She asked me to join in and I did 😊
Simple yet fun! ❤️
We made these two today.
The first was a simple fruit snack made with watermelons and blueberries.
The second was a dozen of homemade cupcakes using coconut sugar instead of white sugar. Of course, we made red, white, and blue frosting with star sprinkles.
Happy Fourth of July!
Today I took BirBir to the local Fourth of July Parade. Of course, I dressed her in Red, White, and Blue 🙂
We also made homemade cupcakes with red, white, and blue frosting and star sprinkles. I also made a quick, yet simple, fruit snack for BirBir made with watermelons and blueberries, in the shape of an American Flag.
We also made it to the fireworks but we were too far away (and the tall trees were in front of us) to get a clear view. BirBir didn’t mind, the sound of the fireworks was making her nervous from where we were sitting! (she’s not a fan of loud noises!)
I leave you with some pics…
Today we decided to paint with tree leaves. We simply walked outside and chose some leaves from different kind of trees. We set up outside with a tray of different colors of paint, the leaves, and a piece of drawing paper.
BirBir had a great time and clean up was easy too!
